The September Issue
Usually fashion related films are my go-to when i'm bored/down/need inspiration/ or just downright need a pick-me-up! This time I chose The September Issue when I was in need of some inspiration to get working on a very important project (which I can't disclose sorry! but I will say that is fashion related). Some of my favourite fashion flicks include: Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, The Devil Wears Prada, Material Girls, The Confessions of a Shopaholic, Sex & The City (movies), and Coco Avant Chanel. There are still tons of films that i'd like to add to my list!
I know what you are thinking: Saf, this movie was released ages ago! Why are you talking about it now?!? Well, that's because I just saw it recently, friends! I'm always late to jump the bandwagon with things!

The September Issue is less like a Hollywood movie and more like Documentary about Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour & the Vogue empire. Although released in 2009, the Vogue team was actually working on the most coveted issue of the year, the nearly 5-pound Fall issue (hence the name of the film) of 2007. It was quiet interesting to watch since the film gave an inside look at what goes on inside the offices of the magazine. You get to see the photo shoots, the outfits, the life of Anna Wintour, and the hard-working team behind the most influential magazine in the entire world!

In short, I loved the movie it was very inspirational and it gave me a great insight into the mechanics of Vogue. Although editor in-chief Anna Wintour is shown to have a hard personality, she is truly amazing at what she does. I love her job! I'm not sure if I could do what she does but it looks fun! Anna makes all the final decisions for the issue and it seems as though she really has an eye for detail ...
The entire film was not very long, approx. 60-80 mins or so and it was def NOT boring! Let me know if you have seen The September Issue before, I'd love to hear your opinion on it! - SMS XO
