Birthday Thoughts
This past Tuesday I celebrated my 23rd birthday. I initially had the day off and I was so excited to be able to sleep in, relax, cook for myself, do some shopping (!!), and just enjoy my day till Soh came home. I even made him take an early shift so we could hangout. Unfortunately, I had a lot of running around to do, including some errands but thankfully I finished early so I still had time in my day!
I didn't do anything special this year. I usually like to plan something exciting, that i've never done before (last year we did Horseback riding!!), so I can remember my birthday each year. For some reason I didn't do that this year. Not sure why... but this post is starting to sound a little depressing, LOL. Things just didn't work out. Clashing of schedules, availability, not enough time in the day, distance and the likes all played a part. So my 23rd was more on the quiet side but I enjoyed it nonetheless! Just bummed, I didn't plan something special like I usually try to do. But no worries, there's always next year!
The hubs took me to my FAVOURITE place ever for Chinese food! I'm been going to this place since literally forever. This small dinky spot is seriously a hidden gem. If you care too much about marble floors and chandeliers then this place is not for you. I on the other hand care way more about quality of the food and service, both of which are excellent at Singapore Garden. This time around we ordered my favourites: Manchurian Beef Fried Rice, Shrimp Pad Thai, Sizzling Chili Shrimp, and Chili Fish. It was amazing (you should know that i'm drooling as I write this)! Afterwards, we had a relaxing long drive and movie night in. Et voila! The next day was back to the same grind!
I didn't take any outfit pics, as usual I forgot in all the hustle and bustle. Plus how can you blame me, I had a growling tummy! I wore a basic black long sleeve top tucked into a poofy blue skirt with some black leggings (all about that modest life yeoo!) and my favourite leopard print flats! I twisted parts of my hair back with bobby pins to keep my lions mane out of my face as I couldn't be bothered to pull out the hot tools to actually attempt to style my hair. I was pretty much all ready in 10 minutes flat. My skin was cooperating for the first time in my life, so I went with no make up and only a bit of eyeliner and mascara. Sounds simple but that's how I am the happiest. No friff. No fraff. Btw, those aren't real words.
This is what happens when you get older, you don't use actual words anymore ...
OH, and I'm listening to this. You should too. Eeeep.
