Review: Bioré Baking Soda Cleanser + Scrub
Well well what do you know, look who it is. Saf has officially returned to this space, but we will talk more about that later because I have some goodies to share with you! I'm a huge skincare junkie and always on the lookout for new products to fall in love with. Recently, Influenster contacted me to review the new Bioré Baking Soda Cleanser & Scrub and I jumped at the opportunity! I received this duo over a month ago and have been using them religiously ever since.
I started off with the Bioré Baking Soda Pore Cleanser which came just in time as I had finished using my current cleanser. I was pleasantly surprised at how light the cleanser is while I pumped a squeege in my hand, and what I liked more was the overall consistency. I am really picky when it comes to the consistencies of my cleansers, and I usually prefer them to be a lot thicker but the Baking Soda Pore Cleanser is just perfect! Not too runny and not too thick! Moreover, the small teeny tiny baking soda particles make for an amazing gentle exfoliate. I love to use this after a long day at work, when I need to wash my face and but don't want a deep scrub. I absolutely LOVE the scent of this cleanser, it has a very pretty fresh smell to it, although I can't but my finger on the exact notes; the lingering scent makes your face smell extra nice! The price of this cleanser is moderate, not terribly expensive but a little more then some of the cheaper options out there, it runs at approximately $7.97 at my local department store but I think it's worth every penny!
I moved on to the Bioré Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub next, since I was so impressed with the cleanser. I have been devoted to my St. Ives Apricot Scrub for the last 100 years or so, and I have been pretty skeptical that I would find anything that compares. I was pleasantly surprised when it came to this scrub as I had not seen anything like it. The powder consistency confused me at first, and I wasn't sure how effective it would really be for scrubbing away makeup and dirt. The powder is a little fine for my liking, I would have preferred that it were a little more dense. What I do really enjoy is how easily it lathers once it comes in contact with water. I also really enjoy the scent of this scrub, as it has a very similar (if not same) scent to the cleanser - that pretty fresh smell I was talking about earlier. This scrub is slightly pricey at $11.97 (at my local department store), however, I think you don't need to use a lot of product at once so you can make your dollar stretch further.
Overall, I am very pleased with this Baking Soda Pore Cleansing Duo and would definitely recommend these products to my family and friends. I have received these products for free for review, however this does not affect my overall opinion for the products whatsoever. I have put these on my to-buy list when they run out, I will definitely be re-purchasing! I do prefer the cleanser over the scrub, just as a personal preference.
The Good:
- Fresh scent
- Perfect consistency
- Cleans/ scrubs well
- Great for daily use
The Bad:
- Moderately priced, average cost comes to approx. $9 per product, might be a little pricey for department store product
My Rating:
9/ 10
