Review: Beckham Signature for Her
If you have been wondering where I have been (you have? oh! how sweet!) this past little while, well then just know that I am fine and healthy (maybe a bit too healthy) and just took a wee hiatus to get my blogging mojo back. I can't believe my last post was 3 weeks ago! August has literally flown by! Anyway, I think i've go it back - my mojo that is, and I can't wait to get back to regular posting! Today's post is a review of one of my favourite scents. I was going to save this for my collective empties post but I love this stuff so much that I don't think I can keep my trap shut about it long enough ...
Hey you! Wanna smell like Victoria Beckham? Then this is fragrance is for YOU! Queue cheesy TV commercial music and silly facial expressions... JUST KIDDING! But on a serious note, Beckham Signature for Her smells like a soft, heavenly dream. If I had to describe it in as few words as possible, then I would say it's a "pretty fragrance". If you have been reading long, then you will remember that I featured this fragrance in my Scents & Sensibility post from way back when, and I mentioned that it's "Sweet, romantic, and floral. A casual fragrance, perfect for day". I really hit the notes there because it is just that! In my opinion, it's a very youthful fragrance which I could see geared towards young women to middle aged women but whose not to say that anyone can wear it? On the Beckham Fragrances website, this scent is described as "Sweet notes of anise flower and candy apple that invite and entice. A floral heart of orchid and heliotrope warmed with soft vanilla. The scent settles on a soft but sophisticated base of patchouli, amber and musk." Gosh, it sounds way more than a fragrance! I got the sense of the musk and orchid tones in it but I wouldn't have ever thought there were hints of candy apple or vanilla in the scent but I guess that's what makes it really special!
The perfume bottle itself, is fairly average looking; it's pretty but not too special. I love collecting perfumes because of the interesting bottles so this was a bit of a downer for me ... but I'd take a good scent over a pretty bottle any day! I purchased this approximately 3 years now so you can tell that it's lasted me this long with fairly regular usage.
Overall, I love this scent and would definitely repurchase again. It's perfect for everyday wear and for women of all ages. It's moderately priced, in and around the $40 + range depending on your retailer. It is an older fragrance (launched in 2008), and may not be easy to find but try your luck online.
The good:
- Smells amazing!
- Moderately priced (approx. $40 - 50)
- Long lasting scent
The bad:
- Packaging/ bottle could have been more attractive
My rating:
9/ 10
So there you have it ladies and gent--- I mean, ladies and ladies. If you are on the lookout for a new fragrance then check this one out! If you do end up purchasing it, let me know or more importantly, blog about it!
